Ad-blocking – a vicious cycle

Ads. The word probably draws your mind towards ‘Hot singles in your area’ or ‘Free movies – no viruses’, but for me, it’s a reminder of how great the internet is. With all its faults aside, the internet is all too often unappreciated these days – the wealth of information available anytime, anywhere (provided you have internet access) for free, with a few hidden costs. Chiefly, online advertisements. They come in many forms: from little boxes in the sidebar of a page to obnoxious full-screen pop-ups and yet, they’re still almost universally hated.

Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Review

I’ve never owned a mechanical keyboard before. The closest I’ve come to one is the Logitech G213 Prodigy fake-mechanical keyboard because I was fooled into thinking that it was one. Well, after about two years of suffering, I decided to bite the bullet and switch to a true mechanical keyboard.

OK, so I started the search. Initially, I looked into a Razer keyboard, but I was frustrated. Many were saying that the switches – even the yellow “silent” ones – were far too loud. This immediately repelled my interest, and- combined with the extortionate prices, I looked elsewhere.

What is up with smartphone trends?

Over the past few years, it has felt like the smartphone market has been totally oversaturated with devices. With phones from hundreds of different manufacturers releasing every month, it’s hard for companies to find a gap in the market. However, instead of trying to innovate to try and find and fill that gap, they are still continuing on the old screen-battery-processor cycle. o.5cm less bezel and half an hour’s more battery life for just £200 more!

App compatibility shows which developers care

Hey guys, today I am a bit annoyed. My friends are all talking about new features on apps, but when I hopelessly return to my device to discover that the feature is only available on IOS, it makes me want to throw my device across the room.
Like at the moment on musical.ly, you can’t get the Snapchat-inspired face filters on Android, but you can on IOS. That is less frustrating than there not being an app at all for your operating system while there is for something else, such as there being no official YouTube or Instagram app on Windows Phone.
